Morphodynamic Primitives
The Morphodynamic Primitives project is inspired by George Teyssot‘s book A Topology of Everyday Constellations where Teyssot proposes a new reading of discrete elements such as the door and the window, but also their cognates the mirror and the screen, as thresholds or interstitial spaces.
By infusing the idea of architecture composed of liminal and intermediate spaces into architectural tectonics Morphodynamic Primitives investigates how static tectonic elements (columns, slabs, walls) and their mechanised openings (door, windows) can be re-formulated as soft and compliant constructions.
The project speculates about architectural openings and passages as nondiscrete, integrated and morphodynamically formed (and un-formed) constructions by proposing soft tectonical typologies – epithelial envelopes, migrating thresholds, folds and apertures.
